Dan Griffin: The Human

I aspire to grow and put a little dash of passion in what I put my mind towards.

Born and raised in St. Louis, I have a background in Psychology & Sociology which helps channel my intuition and creative drive into something I can utilize effectively in the marketing world. I also have over 15 years of experience as a developer: It’s a passion and I love what I do and always come back to it. Building something from scratch, being able to make hundreds of decisions into something tangible — what isn’t to love?

I can also attribute my experience through my previous work at GoBrandGo, Hedgehog Medical Websites, Timmermann Group, and Ontada.

Strengths

During my time at Timmermann Group I was introduced to Gallup Strengths and through it I’ve been able to get a better sense of myself and what drives me. I also believe they offer a modest insight to myself.

In sharp contrast to adaptability, I crave making my world predictable, ordered, and structured. I set up routines and work the surprises into a plan of attack – it's how I maintain my productivity.

I smile at everyone who makes eye contact with me in an effort to always put off an energy that inspires and encourage. It's powerful. It's purposeful. And it is originates from deep within me.

Core Principals

A solid and straightforward process

I plan strategy into both the achievement of a goal and the development of any project. Determining the goals is just the beginning and bringing them into reality is only easier when there’s an effective plan.

Familar and intuitive technologies

For the past 8 years, WordPress has been my go to tool for websites. It is a well established tool that can be shaped to support just about any idea out there and has established itself as a staple of the web.

Performance and standards compliant: Making it all accessible and searchable

It’s useless if it doesn’t work. And it needs to work for everyone. I ensure performance and standards compliancy across my work to get the most solid product out into the world. That includes making things accessible: people should never be cut off for their disabilities.

Attention to the last detail

I make sure both sides of the fence are painted. I refresh screens over and over again.  I write tests to automate passing and failing code. It’s my goal to make something I’m proud of and that means making sure every pixel is in place.
